I stopped by the VA Hospital to check out the footing, and was approached by one of the Veterans, Barry Anderson, who proudly started telling me all about the rock, and how Bubba Sorenson was going to paint it. He said that “All the guys know what’s going on with the rock, and are looking forward to seeing the progress.” He complimented the job Rick did putting the footing in, and explained the appreciation the Vets have for what is being done. I explained that I had found the rock, and that the Knights of Columbus Assemblies 3378 and 3031 are behind the project. I also explained that all of the labor, materials and other costs have been donated, and there has been no cost to the VA for this project. We are doing this for the Vets to honor and show our appreciation for their service and the sacrifices they have made for us. It was great to hear about the excitement this is generating among the Vets.
